Marston Robing, the leading Graduation Ceremony provider for Universities and Schools, needed to increase space for storage at their Surrey site.

Having used Hampshire Mezzanine Floors  for their last 4 mezzanine floors they did not hesitate to come back to HMF for this new project.

After a few initial designs HMF suggested making the mezzanine floor to the maximum size of 50% of the building to remove the need to fire rate the structure, in turn saving Marston Robing considerable costs.

HMF were able to install the mezzanine over the top of existing shelving and benching to reduce any disruption to their business. HMF also supplied some additional pallet racking to make use of all the available space in the building.

Special attention was paid to ensure the correct type of pallet gate was used and an inset bi-part gate was chosen to allow potential high pallets to be stored on the mezzanine. HMF also fitted a steel loading plate to protect the edge of the floor where pallet loading was to be carried out.

Another part of the project was to provide new LED energy efficient lighting under the mezzanine floor and fit additional emergency lighting to cover the ground and first floor areas. The fire alarm system was also extended to cover this new installation with HMF connecting this to the existing fire alarm panel in the building, this provided a full turn key solution to the client.

The benefit of these works to the customer is that a new 100m2 mezzanine floor has enabled them to re-organise their working environment and store more pallets and fit additional shelving within the same unit to save on costly re-location or additional premises.

The mezzanine was installed in only 3 days and the lighting was fitted the next day ensuring a swift, painless installation to the customer, with all works being carried out to stringent health and safety methods and standards.
