Winterbourne Trustee Services Entrusts HMF to Install a Mezzanine
The project
Hampshire Mezzanine went & carried out a survey of their existing building & came up with a proposal for a new mezzanine floor. As the existing building had a studio feel to it HMF suggested that a feature architectural staircase with brushed stainless steel handrail with safety glass & also brushed stainless steel balustrading would give an attractive finish.
Mazzanine floor design
HMF designed the mezzanine floor with very thin main beams to make the mezzanine floor super thin as there was limited headroom available. The mezzanine floor had to be 1 hour fire resisting with 1 hour column casings, 1 hour fascia & a 1 hour suspended ceiling. The column casings were primed & painted at the factory so that they could be hand painted on site to blend in with the existing matt emulsion of the building & the fascia had an additional front decorative finish that was also tape & jointed & painted out to match the building.
The fit out
HMF specified new wire hung LED energy efficient lighting & emergency lighting that was utilised to sit comfortably with some of the sloping roof & ceiling angles. New carpet was provided to both the existing ground & new mezzanine floor areas complete with a Red feature walkway carpet in a contrasting colour in heavy duty contract grade carpet tiles.
Power and data cabling
Power was provided to the mezzanine with floor boxes cut into the mezzanine floor to stop trailing leads being required from the perimeter walls. Cat 6 data cabling was also fed through the installation including the new floor boxes. Eight air conditioning systems were fitted throughout the building that both heat & cool the space giving good temperature control in each area & as inverter heat pump systems they were energy efficient.
A new Comms room was built to contain the computer & data services which again was decorated to match & blend in with the rest of the building.
The project was completed on programme & the end result looks very impressive achieving the wow factor.
