Perpetuum, part of Hitachi Group, are a global leader in the provision of information to maximise safety and reliability and reduce costs. They advance and transform railway and fleet management, improving the efficiency, safety and quality of rail services. Perpetuum contacted HMF to look at resiting their production & stores facilities to a new site in Romsey.
Perpetuum Relocates
Hampshire Mezzanine had previously moved the same facility from another site in Romsey to Hedge End some years ago so HMF were aware of some of the required design criteria for the project from past experience.
HMF visited the new site & provided a layout as well as an itemised quotation for works required. After a number of design refinements, a final design was ordered & without delay HMF started installing this fast track project.
What we did
The works included modifications to the existing warehouse to include resiting existing pallet racking from the existing site & also modifications to the existing racking already on site with anti-collapse mesh & steel partitioning modifications.
A new mezzanine floor was installed with a sound bloc ceiling including apertures designed into the mezzanine floor to take ductwork/pipework from below up onto the mezzanine floor.
The offices were remodelled to incorporate the new facility complete with new air conditioning, extract ventilation & a new kitchen. The mechanical & electrical installations in the building were upgraded & other mechanical works included the compressed air for production & production services.
A new shower area was constructed & the existing toilets were upgraded. New vinyl flooring was fitted throughout the ground floor corridors & wet areas. New carpet tiles were fitted to the offices.
External works included outside emergency lighting & window sealed unit repairs/replacements with new blinds fitted.
The project was completed on programme & Perpetuum moved on schedule.
