Off the back of previous work for this customer at a different unit on the same estate, the customer needed a mezzanine floor over their existing parts racked out area. They wanted the mezzanine to be in two adjoining units which were separated by a masonry wall at high level but adjoined at ground floor level. The mezzanine was in a confined space formed by the existing security mesh caging inside which we needed to do all the installation works.

HMF proposed to remove the high level wall to allow the mezzanine to be one continuous floor across the area. This meant more storage area & no need for a staircase in each building. Hampshire Mezzanine removed the wall & installed a mezzanine floor linking the two units together & provided new lighting & smoke detection linked to the existing fire alarm. HMF arranged & administered all approvals for the work from Building Control & the Fire Officer.

The mezzanine allowed for the existing parts racking to be relocated onto the mezzanine floor. This created space underneath to move other storage shelving & other items from warehouse areas to under the floor with the ultimate aim of creating more space in their production area for the build of technological drone boats.

Upon completion of the project which was completed on programme, the Operations Manager commented “We just wanted to say a big thank you to yourself & your team regarding the floor installation. We are really impressed with the design, the quality of the floor & the efficient/organised way that HMF went about the installation. We appreciate that this was also completed during a challenging time for us all, so please pass on our appreciation to the team – great job”.
