Garner Osborne are manufacturers of printed circuit boards, PCB prototypes and large scale, small run and individual PCBs. They were recommend to Hampshire Mezzanine Floors by an existing customer of HMF’s.
HMF went to Garner Osborne’s manufacturing facilities in Newbury to carry out a survey of their requirements. This included the incorporation of a mezzanine floor that had to be built over a printed circuit board machine running the complete length of the area.
HMF came up with AutoCAD designs to enable steelwork to be fitted around the machines, services & production equipment & also incorporated a design for new means of escape including additional staircases & modifications to partitions.
HMF then put forward a proposal as Principal Contractor to carry out the complete mezzanine fit out of this area which included partitioning & ceiling works with tape & jointing & decoration as well as all mechanical & electrical services.
The installation was planned like a military operation & involved using specialist access equipment to lift steelwork safely above the production machine & equipment & locate in place. The mezzanine steelwork was then fire rated using 1 hour column casings.
HMF then incorporated LED recessed modular lighting complete with 1 hour fire canopies below the mezzanine floor to give a good bright lux level using energy efficient lighting. Emergency lighting was also incorporated to BS 5266 throughout all the areas.
HMF then constructed new first floor facilities on the mezzanine floor using partitioning & ceilings complete with new mechanical & electrical services.
The new floor level was latex prepared & new ESD anti-static flooring was fitted by HMF to meet the requirements of Garner Osborne’s production facilities.
HMF administrated Building Control approval for the design & installation of the project & the project was completed on time & on budget.
