Hampshire Mezzanine Floors have recently completed a new laboratory for Pall Europe at their Farlington site in Hampshire.

HMF have been carrying out work for Pall Europe for over 25 years and have a longstanding understanding of the site facilities and requirements.

HMF were supplied with a scope of requirements by Pall Europe and a proposed location on the second floor of an existing facility.

HMF went to site to survey the area and then using AutoCAD design provided proposed plans for the laboratory which required an extensive refit of the existing space.

The existing area was stripped out by HMF and then new customised laboratory benching was fitted with adjustable shelves and rear upstands. The bench tops were Trespa and they included a steel framed system complete with concealed panels to hide services.

HMF then provided medical gas pipework to the new library as well as new plumbing and water supplies with sinks and associated plumbing.

New energy efficient inverter heat pump air conditioning systems were installed throughout the laboratory areas and also the adjacent offices.

New ventilation was provided using energy efficient heat recovery ventilation systems that uses air being expelled from the area to assist in tempering the new fresh air coming into the area from outside of the building.

HMF also designed the new electrical installation complete with wall and bench trunking and pyramid type pedestal power arrangements.

The lighting HMF provided was energy efficient LED recessed modular lighting complete with integral emergency lighting.

The compressed air and vacuum systems were installed by HMF throughout the area complete with bench mounted outlets.

The existing flooring was uplifted and the floor prepared and latexed ready to accept heavy duty sheet vinyl complete with heat welded joints.

The suspended ceiling was modified and fitted with new tiles and the area was decorated using hygiene grade paint systems.

The project was completed on programme and with the finishes chosen by Pall Europe looks good.
