Pall Europe is a global leader in high-tech filtration, separation & purification, providing solutions to meet critical fluid management needs of a broad spectrum of life sciences & industrial customers.
Pall Europe have used Hampshire Mezzanine as Principal Contractor on projects over the last 25 years on both installations within their warehouse & logistics operations as well as office, laboratory & manufacturing fit outs.
On this occasion, Pall Europe needed to convert an existing manufacturing area into a new space complete with a high level gantry crane to be installed to enable heavy products to be lifted & handled safely throughout the manufacturing process.
HMF went to site & received a briefing from Pall Europe on what their requirements were & also whilst on site HMF carried out a detailed survey of the existing area.
HMF then came up with designs for a proposed reconfiguration of the area including new double skin steel partitioning at various heights & also very complex ceiling arrangements & sub grid support for ceilings to be located in a number of positions.
Bagged insulation was fitted above the new ceiling grid & the tiles within the ceiling were provided as plastic faced plasterboard tiles to enable ease of cleaning. New bulkheads & fascias were fitted to form the upstand where the crane was to be located in White to enhance the reflectivity of light & match the ceiling above.
HMF designed & installed a new LED energy efficient lighting system with recessed modular lights located in the suspended ceiling. Emergency lighting was modified & extended to cover the new layout design.
As Main Contractor HMF organised for sprinklers to be fitted within the new ceilings complete with automatic dropdown sprinkler heads.
A gantry crane was installed with structural steel gantry platform & new overhead gantry crane & associated electrics & control mechanisms.
The existing compressed air & mechanical services were modified to suit the additional areas.
The project was completed on programme & within budget & is now operational.
