The Linwood Fabric Company are a long established family business specialising in quality fabrics putting excellence at the heart of everything they do.
Hampshire Mezzanine Floors were asked to look at refurbishing their existing fabric samples operation. HMF went to site to carry out a survey of the area & the existing storage equipment & then came up with initial suggestions for increasing the space & space utilisation.
The works required the removal of a number of walls that previously formed separate areas & HMF designed the new facility as one large open plan area.
HMF were awarded the project to carry out the works based on a phased installation with the existing areas & mechanical & electrical systems modified.
HMF then carried out an intrusive survey to establish the load bearing of the existing floor areas associated with the wall removals & then administrated a Building Regulations application to ensure all the works met the current Building Regulations codes.
New LED energy efficient lighting with integral emergency lighting was provided by HMF. The existing fire alarm was extended to cover the new area.
The existing flooring was uplifted & after latex preparation both heavy duty sheet vinyl & carpet tiles with diminishing strips were fitted to give a softer area for picking & packing & a hard vinyl area for all the storage equipment. New window blinds were fitted to the external windows & HMF redecorated the complete area.
HMF relocated all the existing shelving & also provided additional shelving to enable a higher density footprint of shelving to be installed.
The end result was a very space efficient sample facility with added space for the cutting machine & pick & pack facilities.
